Characteristic

Conducting scientific and service research, analyzing health safety of water and air, and assessing the impact of the above environmental factors on the health of people;
Solving problems in the field of environmental hygiene, concerning in particular health issues of the human environment, hygiene of housing estates and construction as well as establishing health requirements in this area;
Development of criteria and norms for the proper shaping of the human environment, its hygienic evaluation and research;
Development of methods for detecting and determining physico-chemical and microbiological contaminations of water and air;
Hygienic certification of materials and products in contact with water intended for consumption and preparations for its purification and disinfection, materials used in construction, household chemistry products, products for the degradation of environmental pollution and other utility products;
Substantive supervision over the operation of sanitary and epidemiological stations in the field of municipal hygiene;
Tasks implemented by the Laboratory of the Institute for Environmental Health Safety for the plant;
Substantive supervision over water and air quality tests and noise performed by the SEZ;
Providing substantive supervision over spatial information systems in the field of hygiene;
Conducting training in environmental quality monitoring;
Conducting training in the use of new methods of chemical and microbiological determinations, their validation and estimating the uncertainty of results.
